Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join our faculty as a Sessional Instructor for the course VISA-2006: Canadian Art: The Modern Era (0.5 credit) in the fall/winter 2024-25 terms.

We invite applications from talented individuals who can teach and inspire students through a post-colonial lens at a formative period in Canadian art history, exploring the advent of competing strands of modernism, the role of the Group of Seven, and the impact of Expo 67.

About the Position

The successful applicant will have a terminal degree in art, design, or a relevant discipline and/or equivalent professional/practical experience. Experience teaching at the post-secondary level is considered an asset, and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

The position requires developing and delivering course outlines, preparing studios, grading, mid-term evaluations, and final evaluations/reviews. The instructor must also ensure health and safety standards and meet academic and curricular requirements and deadlines.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $6,871.00 per 0.5 credit course, plus 7% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay, as per the Employment Standards Act. This position is subject to budgetary approval and satisfactory enrolment levels.
