Job Summary

DCT Chambers Trucking Ltd is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer and transporting goods across various routes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a tractor-trailer and transport goods across various routes, adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Load and unload goods safely and efficiently, using proper lifting techniques to avoid injury.
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking oil levels, tire pressure, and brake pads, to prevent breakdowns.
  • Communicate with central dispatch to receive and relay information, and to report any issues or concerns.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption to ensure accurate records.
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo to prevent damage or loss.
  • Hold a valid Air Brakes Endorsement and a Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
  • Have experience with Citizens band (CB) radio, GPS, and other navigation equipment.
  • Be able to operate a tractor-trailer B train and a tractor-trailer.
  • Have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Be able to work efficiently and effectively in a team environment.
  • Have excellent oral communication skills and be able to work with customers and colleagues in a professional manner.
  • Be flexible and able to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
  • Have good judgment and be able to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be organized and able to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Be reliable and able to maintain a high level of productivity and quality of work.
  • Be a team player and able to work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals.
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the field of employment.
