About the Role

The Director of Organization Effectiveness and People Services will provide visionary leadership to SFU's Strategic Business Partner Services team, driving exceptional HR service delivery and fostering collaborative relationships with university departments.

This role requires a seasoned HR professional with a proven track record of enabling teams to provide relevant, consistent, and timely advice and service by building effective trusted relationships, demonstrating competence as a subject matter expert, and instilling a culture of customer service.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, and a professional HR designation (CPHR) is an asset. They will have proven experience in a leadership position within a large, diverse, and complex unionized environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies, programs, and initiatives to enhance HR service delivery and foster collaborative relationships with university departments.
  • Provide professional advice on complex HR issues and be the first point of contact for all People, Equity & Inclusion services.
  • Identify and champion best practices in HR service delivery and lead the Strategic Business Partner Services team to achieve these goals.
  • Build strong partnerships with academic and administrative units, providing expert guidance on HR policies, programs, and services to support organizational effectiveness.
