Executive Culinary Team Member

Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
Job Description:We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Culinary Team Member to join our team at CHEF MI. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the preparation and cooking of complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
Key Responsibilities:- Co-ordinate special events such as banquets and buffets, ensuring that all aspects of the event run smoothly and efficiently.
- Determine the size of food portions and costs, taking into account factors such as ingredient prices and customer demand.
- Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization, working closely with other members of the culinary team to ensure that all dishes are prepared to a high standard.
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies, maintaining accurate records of inventory levels to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, adhering to food safety standards and presenting dishes in an appealing manner.
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, taking into account their specific dietary needs.
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are able to perform their duties effectively.
- Order supplies and equipment, ensuring that the kitchen is well-equipped to meet the demands of the business.
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, delegating tasks and responsibilities to ensure that the kitchen runs efficiently.
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, using this information to inform purchasing decisions and optimize kitchen operations.
- Clean kitchen and work areas, adhering to health and safety standards and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Organize buffets and banquets, coordinating with other members of the team to ensure that all aspects of the event run smoothly.
- A Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the culinary industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is essential.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
- Standing for extended periods and ability to lift heavy objects.
- Free parking available.
