Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Bookkeeper to join our team at Sheppard & Associates Ltd. in Kemptville, ON. As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Record Keeping: Maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
  2. Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers, and prepare financial statements.
  3. Payroll and Bill Processing: Calculate and prepare cheques for payrolls and for utility, tax, and other bills.
  4. Government Compliance: Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms, and other government documents.
  5. Financial Reporting: Prepare tax returns and perform other personal bookkeeping services.
  6. Financial Analysis: Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports.
Requirements
  1. Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  2. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related field.
  3. Language: English.
  4. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, attention to detail.
  5. Personal Suitability: Effective interpersonal skills, dependability, team player, reliability, accurate, organized.
