Are you a skilled systems design specialist with experience in software-based systems? We are seeking a talented individual to join our team as a System Design Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for performing system design, signalling design, analysis, modelling, and simulation to specify communication-based train control systems. You will also develop and define system design features to meet customer requirements and analyze and evaluate designs to verify compliance with system technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Converts customer requirements into conceptual designs and prepares associated documentation by performing operational analyses, simulations, and technical trade-off studies evaluating alternative design configurations and functional features.
Creates new concepts or modifies existing concepts to fulfill customer requirements.
Prepares system, subsystem, and interface requirement specifications by analyzing, decomposing, modelling, and refining customer requirements and typical train control domain requirements.
Performs technical/engineering tasks to define system design, subsystem requirements, application databases for software subsystems. Analysis and simulations are performed as necessary to identify design feasibility and driving requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Systems, Mechatronics, Electrical, Computer), Computer Science, or a closely related field.
Relevant experience in development of software-based system applications.
Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, methods, and tools.
Knowledge of systems development life cycle.
Good marketing and presentation skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience in using DOORS, Melody Advance, etc.
Strong application (automated train control systems) domain knowledge and knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices.
Rail Signaling knowledge.
Work package management.
System engineering expertise.
Ability to sell/defend product to customers with differing levels of knowledge about automated systems.
