At Outright Consulting, we're seeking an exceptional Electrical Systems Design Specialist to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-voltage distribution lines and substations for utilities and commercial/industrial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth power system studies, including coordination studies, short circuit analysis, arc-flash, load flows, harmonic analysis, and power factor correction using advanced engineering software.
  • Perform thorough field inspections and testing of electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Develop detailed design estimates and quotations, create proposals, and deliver customer solutions that meet their needs.
  • Manage projects from start to finish, maintaining accurate documentation, including drawings, specifications, quotations, change orders, submittals, comments, review, approvals, test sheets, and reports.
  • Create comprehensive grounding design studies utilizing SES Autogrid software.
  • Determine protection and control schemes, design, and retrofit electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot complex electrical issues, providing timely and effective solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical or a related field.
  • P. Eng designation is mandatory.
  • Valid driver's license, with a strong emphasis on safety and adherence to regulations.
  • 5-10 years of direct experience in designing electrical power systems, with a focus on utility distribution design.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation, with the ability to generate and interpret electrical documents.
  • Strong knowledge of industry design/construction standards, codes, regulations, requirements, and best practices.
