The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Early Childhood Development team, you will play a critical role in the delivery of early childhood programs and services across the territory.
Key Responsibilities- Program Delivery: Oversee the quality of care for children by inspecting, licensing, and providing support and guidance to early childhood programs.
- Community Engagement: Promote awareness of early childhood issues within communities and support community-based non-profit organizations to plan, develop, and deliver quality early childhood education and care programs.
- Program Development: Encourage the parents of young students to continue working towards their high school diploma and promote the concept of families as strong places for early childhood development.
- Education: A recognized Diploma in Early Childhood Education and three (3) years of applicable administrative or early childhood education experience.
- Skills: Completion of First Aid, Infant/child CPR training, and fluency in one of the official languages of Nunavut (Inuktut, English, or French).
- Assets: A degree in Early Childhood Education or in Education with a focus on early childhood development, knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment.
