About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter Assistant to join our team at Gavan Construction Company Ltd. As a Carpenter Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our carpentry team in the construction of residential projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from job sites.
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs.
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications.
  • Assist in demolishing buildings and removing rubble and other debris at construction sites.
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials.
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites.
  • Utilize hand and power tools.
  • Perform other labouring and elemental activities as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a construction labouring role is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labour tasks.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to follow emergency and safety procedures.
