About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Housing Project Manager to join our team at The Regional Municipality of Durham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of housing projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Management
    • Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets
    • Coordinate with stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and contractors
    • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating potential risks
  • Housing Development
    • Work with developers and architects to design and develop new housing projects
    • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and municipal bylaws
    • Collaborate with community groups and stakeholders to ensure projects meet community needs
  • Financial Management
    • Manage project budgets, including forecasting and reporting on expenses
    • Ensure accurate and timely payment to contractors and suppliers
    • Monitor and report on project financial performance
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
    • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including community groups, developers, and municipal officials
    • Communicate project updates and progress to stakeholders, including residents and community groups
    • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with internal teams, including planning, engineering, and finance
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as project management, construction management, or a related field
  • Experience
    • 5 years or more of experience in project management, housing development, or a related field
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Proven track record of successful project management, including experience with project planning, budgeting, and risk management
    • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with community groups and stakeholders
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks
