Maintenance Worker Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at Concept Plastics Limited. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sweep, mop, and clean hallways, floors, and stairs to maintain a clean and tidy environment.
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and dirt from the premises.
  • Empty trash cans and waste containers to prevent litter and maintain a clean environment.
  • Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to maintain a clean and tidy appearance.
  • Perform minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Advertise vacancies and assist with recruitment efforts.
  • Balance rent rolls and manage financial transactions.
  • Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
  • Perform safety and security checks to ensure a secure environment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as painting and drywall repair.
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
  • Repair machine tools and parts to maintain equipment functionality.
  • Maintain and calibrate precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to understand equipment specifications.
  • Fabricate and assemble components to close tolerance.
  • Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances.
  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments.
Requirements:
  • Dependability and reliability in performing tasks.
  • Initiative to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
  • Organized and methodical approach to work.
Experience:
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a maintenance or facilities role.
  • Permanent employment opportunity.
  • 30 hours per week of work.
  • English as the primary language of communication.
