About the Role

Cobrafer Construction Ltd. is seeking a skilled Carpenter - Concrete Forms Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for construction projects.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Schedule and coordinate work on construction sites.
  • Survey building locations and levels.
  • Instruct apprentices and provide on-the-job training.
  • Estimate costs and materials for construction projects.
  • Operate CAD software and other computer systems to design and plan construction projects.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial buildings, including wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment, with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and physical labor. The role requires bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads. The work environment is physically demanding, with tight deadlines and a large workload.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the trade.
  • Steel-toed safety boots and tools are required.
