Job Title: Construction Site Superintendent

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Site Superintendent to join our team at Sault Ste. Marie. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the activities of construction teams, including laborers, carpenters, and other tradespeople.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols, and maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Monitor and control project costs, including materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Develop and implement project schedules, including timelines and milestones.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure that projects are completed to the required standards.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure that work is being performed in accordance with plans and specifications.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of project progress, including daily reports, time sheets, and other documentation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve project efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to construction teams, including training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure that all personnel are aware of and comply with company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in construction supervision, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct construction teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques, including safety protocols and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in construction management or related field preferred.
