The University of Saskatchewan's College of Medicine is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Provincial Department Head, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will lead all academic, clinical, research, and operational initiatives within the department across two campuses, aligning with overarching institutional and healthcare strategic goals. As a member of the senior leadership team, the Provincial Department Head will serve as a strategic bridge-builder between public need, medical training, research, medical practice, and care delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Lead academic, clinical, research, and operational initiatives within the department
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve departmental goals
- Collaborate with senior leadership to drive institutional and healthcare strategic goals
- Recruit and develop faculty members
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders
The successful candidate will hold an MD degree and possess certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent) as well as being eligible for licensure in Saskatchewan. The ideal candidate should demonstrate proven leadership and mentorship skills, extensive clinical expertise, and administrative proficiency.
