About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented HVAC Engineering and Thermal Systems Intern to join our team at BBA Consultants. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including engineering, selecting technology, and executing mechanical and multidisciplinary projects in the mining, energy, and heavy industry sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in carrying out small, medium, and large multidisciplinary mandates within a work team of engineers and technicians.
- Work with the team on innovation projects involving decarbonization and energy recovery in the industrial sectors.
- Design heat recovery systems (HVAC, power systems – cooling and heating loops).
- Carry out studies and detailed engineering mandates for clients with brownfield or greenfield projects.
- Assist more experienced staff with the technical aspects of more complex tasks.
- Occasionally coordinate the work of drafters or others at the request of a senior engineer.
Requirements
- Three years in an undergraduate mechanical engineering program (at least 80 accumulated credits).
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite and other applications, databases, and interfaces.
- Relevant experience in the industrial sector.
- Knowledge of one or more of the following fields of application: pumping, building services (HVAC), dust collection, and thermal systems.
- Bilingual (English and French), both spoken and written, and ability to draft technical documents in both languages.
- Asset: knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and AFT Fathom applications.
- Asset: mechanical experience in the heavy industry, energy, or mining sectors.
