Water Sector Development Manager

With over 70 years of experience, this company has established itself as a trusted provider of best-in-class solutions for water, wastewater, transportation, energy, environment, and facilities. As they continue to grow in the Canadian market, they are seeking a dynamic Water Sector Development Manager to join their Greater Toronto Area operations.

About the Role:

  • Act as the primary liaison between clients and the local executive team to foster business development and enhance reputation in the water sector.
  • Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, and quality management for significant water and wastewater projects across the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding municipalities.
  • Work with the local executive team and corporate sales and marketing team to prepare proposals and engage with clients to build relationships with municipal clients for water sector projects.
  • Participate in networking opportunities, including involvement with professional societies within the industry, to cultivate new business opportunities.
  • Provide technical guidance, senior leadership, and mentoring to engineering staff to strengthen the water services capabilities in Ontario.
  • Offer strategic advice and insights to the executive team and seek out opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Cultivate and maintain rich, positive working relationships with key clients/stakeholders.
  • Support operational duties, including hiring, training, and mentoring staff.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or other relevant areas of study.
  • 12 or more years' experience in project management and technical project delivery for municipal water projects.
  • Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng) registration required.
  • PMP, CCM, or DBIA certification preferred.
  • Business development experience, including proposal creation and cost estimates for municipal projects.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite, project management software, industry-specific software, CRM and/or ERP systems, virtual meeting platforms.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a proven track-record of meeting defined deadlines and deliverables.
