At Grand River Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Assistant to join our team. As an Anesthesia Assistant, you will be responsible for providing respiratory care to patients undergoing general, regional, or local anesthesia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide respiratory care as established by the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO) and the hospital's standards.
- Participate in the care of stable surgical patients during anesthesia, under the clinical direction of the Chief of Anesthesia.
- Administer anesthetic gases and medications, perform conscious sedation, and insert and monitor intravenous and arterial lines.
- Assess and evaluate the depth of anesthesia, using medical directives as applicable.
Requirements:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a valid certificate of registration from the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO) with no terms limitations or conditions.
- Completion of an accredited Anesthesia Assistant Program or current enrollment in such a program.
- Minimum 3 years of critical care experience.
- BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
