Job Summary:

Shepherd Village is a leading provider of senior care services, and we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing exceptional food service and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and portion meals for resident dining rooms
  • Assist residents during meal times, promoting independence and dignity
  • Serve meals following therapeutic diet orders
  • Transport dishes to and from the kitchen before and after meal times

Requirements:

  • Completed or enrolled in an approved Food Service Worker program
  • Food Handler Certificate
  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Previous food service experience in long-term care an asset
  • Proficient in food preparation and serving techniques
  • Proven safe food handling practices
  • Motivated to provide high-quality work and work in an efficient manner
  • Excellent customer service skills and communication
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including standing for prolonged periods and lifting up to 20lbs
