Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team at Shepherd Village. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the overall care and satisfaction of our residents during meal times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and portion meals for resident dining rooms
  • Assist residents during meal times
  • Serve meals following therapeutic diet orders
  • Transport dishes to and from the kitchen before and after meal times

Requirements:

  • Completed or enrolled in an approved Food Service Worker program
  • Food Handler Certificate
  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Previous food service experience in long-term care preferred
  • Proficient in food preparation and serving techniques
  • Proven safe food handling practices
  • Motivated to provide high-quality work and work in an efficient manner
  • Excellent customer service skills and communication
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including standing for prolonged periods, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 20lbs or 9kg
  • Ability to accept and follow directions and follow company policies and procedures
  • Able to build and maintain good working relationships with residents and coworkers
