Payroll Specialist

True North Labour Inc. is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team.
This permanent role offers a 30-40 hour workweek with English as the primary language of communication.
The ideal candidate will have a secondary school graduation certificate, with 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
Key responsibilities include calculating and preparing cheques, maintaining records of employee attendance, leave, and overtime, and providing awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing statements of earnings for employees, indicating gross and net salaries and deductions such as taxes, union dues, garnishments, and insurance and pension plans.
This role also involves preparing and balancing period-end reports, reconciling issued payrolls to bank statements, and completing and submitting documentation for administration of benefits.
