Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Interventionist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a Clinical Interventionist, you will play a critical role in providing person-centered services to preschool-age children with autism and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate goal-setting processes with families to identify their child's needs and develop intervention plans.
  • Provide assessments and develop, implement, and coordinate intervention programs to address parent goals.
  • Contribute to family education and work within various intervention frameworks, including the 12-month intensive intervention model and manualized caregiver-mediated programs.
  • Provide direct supervision to Program Implementers and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Behaviour Analysis or equivalent with Board-certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the appropriate professional body in Nova Scotia.
  • Valid Class 5 Nova Scotia driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • CPR certification and First Aid certification.
  • Two years of recent experience working with children with autism and their families.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in intervention for children with autism.
  • Excellent clinical care skills, including assessment, development, implementation, monitoring, and coordination of intervention plans.
  • Ability to work within an interprofessional collaborative practice framework and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including developing and maintaining internal and external partnerships.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and solution-focused skills.
  • Education, training, and/or experience in evidence-based autism interventions, such as Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT), Positive Behavior Support (PBS), and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), are assets.
  • Ability to participate in quality improvement and innovation initiatives related to processes and practice.
  • Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention is an asset.
  • Competencies in other languages, particularly French and Arabic, are assets.
