About the Role

Beacon Pharmacy, a subsidiary of Calgary Co-op, is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Assistant to support our team. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service and assisting with the technical aspects of dispensing prescriptions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, adhering to the customer care and service standards of Beacon Pharmacy.
  • Interact with customers and employees in a positive manner to enhance customer services and create a healthy work environment.
  • Assist in the operation of the Pharmacy Department, adhering to the guidelines of the Alberta Pharmaceutical Association and the policies and procedures of Beacon Pharmacy.
  • Utilize a high degree of concentration when assisting in the filling of prescriptions, requiring attentiveness to detail and accuracy.
  • Assist the pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions and help manage dispensary inventories, including ordering, receiving, and rotating stock and supplies.
  • Familiarize yourself with current merchandising practices and assist in the achievement of departmental operating objectives.
  • Be aware of and informed about Beacon Pharmacy policies, guidelines, procedures, and approved practices.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 education or an acceptable combination of experience and education.
  • Pass the Calgary Co-op Pharmacy Assistant test.
  • Completed a recognized Pharmacy Assistant Program (preferred).
  • Two (2) years of dispensing experience (desirable).
