Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Halvar Jonson Centre for Brain Injury. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide a range of services to support patients with acquired brain injury, including assessment, planning, and implementation of client-centered treatment programs.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and evaluate patients' occupational performance needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide evidence-informed services to support patients' occupational performance, including self-care, productivity, and leisure activities
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to achieve optimal functional abilities and independence
- Conduct assessments, screenings, and consultations to identify patients' needs and develop treatment plans
- Develop and implement treatment plans that address patients' cognitive, affective, spiritual, and physical strengths and limitations
- Provide education and support to patients and families to promote independence and self-management
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and services
- Completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program
- Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
- Greater than 6 months experience in working in neurology, with stroke and brain-injured patients
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- CPR certification - BLS for Health Care Providers Level C
