About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Indigenous Student Support Specialist to join our team. This temporary full-time position will be responsible for providing support to students and families in accessing and navigating local community resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students, focusing on their academic and personal growth
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local community organizations to ensure students have access to necessary resources
  • Advocate for students and families within the education system, addressing systemic barriers and challenges
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to promote student success

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of Indigenous history, colonization, and the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action
  • Familiarity with Indigenous world view and cultural practices
  • Excellent organizational, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with sensitivity, confidentiality, and discretion

Salary and Benefits:

This role offers a competitive salary range of $70,957-$83,480 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits as per the PASS Terms of Employment.
