Provincial Mental Health and Addiction Flow Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Flow Optimization Specialist to join our team at Shared Health. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in coordinating the movement of Mental Health and Addiction patients from rural areas of the province through the admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate with Service Delivery Organizations (SDOs) and acute care Mental Health and Addiction sites to facilitate the movement of patients from rural areas.
- Develop and implement guidelines and educational strategies to optimize the admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
- Participate in decision-making to ensure effective admission processes and optimal utilization of facility resources.
- Participate in Mental Health and Addiction flow calls throughout the province.
- 5 years of experience working in an acute Mental Health and Addiction environment, including 3 years in an operational role with a focus on flow optimization and transition planning.
- 2 years of experience using computerized applications, such as patient flow software.
- Experience working in a virtual environment.
- Post-secondary degree in a relevant health profession from an accredited institution.
- Master's degree is considered an asset.
- Active membership in a relevant regulatory body.
- Demonstrated staff-level leadership capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Experience working in rural areas is an asset.
- Ability to function in a pivotal role, facilitating patient admission, discharge, and transfer processes.
- Ability to work with all levels of staff, including direct care, multidisciplinary teams, and management.
- Proficiency in concepts related to collaborative practice and inter-professional education and practice.
- Education in Lean Six Sigma or equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to assess situations and problem-solve effectively.
- Proficiency in computerized clinical applications.
- Ability to work safely in a typical computerized office environment.
- Ability to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg.
- Valid Manitoba driver's license and use of a personal motor vehicle for regular travel within the province.
- Occasional evening or night shifts may be required.
