Facilities Maintenance Professional

The Ontario Public Service is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Professional to join our team. This temporary position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, ensuring the safety and maintenance of our facilities.
About the RoleThis role requires the ability to perform a wide range of tasks, including general maintenance, building upkeep, and groundskeeping. As a Facilities Maintenance Professional, you will be responsible for:
- Escorting skilled tradespeople while they perform maintenance, renovation, and repair tasks
- Performing general maintenance and building upkeep duties, such as changing light bulbs and painting
- Operating and maintaining various pumps, burners, water softeners, kitchen, and grounds equipment
- Groundskeeping, including clearing snow and mowing grass
- Supervising inmate helpers and reporting their conduct
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Certification in one of the skilled trades recognized by the Ontario Government, or equivalent experience
- A current First Aid and Heartsaver certificate, or the ability to obtain these before hire
