We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Security Engineer to join our team at Royal Bank of Canada. This is a full-time salaried position based in Vancouver, with a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned network security professional to work with our high-performing and collaborative team. As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will be involved in various engineering work streams, component analysis, design, and build of leading-edge technologies focusing on next-generation firewalls, SASE, and SOAR technologies.

You will own and validate blueprints and design artifacts, partner with the architecture team to validate solutions, define solution design and services, direct the design, build, and transition activities, conduct research into leading technologies, and lead Proof of Concept activities.

As a key member of our team, you will think strategically, use your excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses, and communicate effectively with stakeholders and project teams.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have 7-10 years of experience in information technology roles, with at least 5 years designing, configuring, and troubleshooting next-generation firewalls and other network security tools. You should also have hands-on experience with PRISMA & AIOps, strong analytical skills, and demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills.

A certification from product vendors or SANS/GIAC is required. Nice-to-have qualifications include an undergraduate degree, change management experience, and understanding of Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems and scripting in a higher-level language such as Python, JavaScript, Ruby, and PowerShell.
