Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Geologist to join our team at our Nunavut operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing geological support for open pit and underground development, maintaining the geological database, and conducting various geological tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide geological support for open pit and underground development, including logging and sampling diamond drill core, mapping and sampling ore and waste headings, and conducting geotechnical mapping.
- Maintain the geological database and ensure its accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct lithology mapping of all underground workings and highwall mapping of open pits.
- Build and maintain ore wireframes of open pit and underground development.
- Assist in preparations for underground ore development and gain familiarity with mine operations.
- Ensure readiness and competence to handle ore development tasks and contribute to the development of strategies to minimize the environmental footprint of mining operations.
Requirements
- Two years of experience in a gold-producing mine environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field.
- Proficient in geological mapping and modeling software, such as Surfer, Leapfrog, Vulcan, Datamine, and Gemcom Surpac.
- Ability to handle samples and equipment as required.
