Financial Regulatory Reporting Director

The Financial Regulatory Reporting Director plays a pivotal role in leading the finance team to generate, analyze, and submit regulatory and financial results for the Canada Franchise. This senior management position involves managing the associated Finance team and developing reporting protocols to ensure accurate preparation of information required for financial and regulatory reporting.
Key Responsibilities:- Closing the Books and Sub-Ledgers: Oversee the process of closing the books and sub-ledgers, including passing necessary adjustment entries and consolidating financials at the end of each accounting period.
- Financial Results Analysis: Perform analysis of financial results, identifying causes of variances such as accounting issues and economic events.
- Policies Interpretation: Interpret policies, guidelines, and processes, resolving complex problems and transactions.
- Advice and Guidance: Provide advice to internal clients on the implications of new business, issues, operating environment changes, firm or business unit strategy.
- SME Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
- Leadership and Initiatives: Lead key initiatives/projects and controls, maintaining working knowledge of industry, regulatory, and accounting developments.
- Regulatory Reporting Filings: Utilize knowledge of finance/accounting concepts to ensure accurate Regulatory Reporting filings.
- Process Improvement: Drive re-engineering, process efficiencies, and continuous process improvement efforts to strengthen controls and data.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis of regulatory reporting and other regulatory matters, presenting results as warranted.
- Experience: 10+ years of related financial and regulatory experience.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
