About the Role:

As a member of the BGIS team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean floors, walls, and other surfaces using a variety of cleaning equipment and solutions
  • Operate floor maintenance machines, cleaning equipment, and materials
  • Strip, seal, and finish hard surface floors
  • Steam clean or shampoo carpets
  • Remove snow and debris from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • Experience in performing various cleaning, housekeeping, and maintenance activities in an institutionalized environment
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the provisions that apply to this work, including WHMIS
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items, as well as climb ladders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, clients, and the general public
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and shifts as assigned, as well as work in multiple locations
