First Transit Canada is seeking a skilled Transportation Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex vehicle and equipment issues.
Key Responsibilities- Vehicle Repair and Maintenance: Diagnose and perform repairs on heavy-duty fleet vehicles, including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches, and other repairs.
- Preventative Maintenance: Lead preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections to ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
- Work Order Management: Ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately, and maintain records of all maintenance work completed, including parts and supplies used.
- Quality Control: Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval where required.
- Emergency Services: Lead road calls and emergency services as necessary.
- Adherence to Company Standards: Adhere to First Transit Canada standards, policies, and procedures.
- Valid Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license.
- Mechanic's Tool Set: Must have an appropriate mechanic's tool set.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Advanced problem-solving ability.
- Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills.
- Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
