Job Summary

The Stores and Distribution Attendant plays a crucial role in the Provincial Health Services Authority's (PHSA) supply chain operations. This position is responsible for organizing and prioritizing internal requisitions, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring the efficient distribution of goods and supplies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and prioritize internal requisitions from multiple sites and departments, maintaining accurate records and data entry into computerized systems.
  • Maintain the cart top-up system, checking supply levels, and requisitioning stock as needed.
  • Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming goods and materials, ensuring compliance with specifications and completing related paperwork.
  • Maintain inventory records, labeling, and adding or deleting data and inventory items as directed.
  • Marshal supplies and equipment, assembling loads, loading carts, bins, and trolleys, and transporting goods to designated areas.
  • Identify and return damaged or spoiled goods to suppliers, completing necessary documentation.
  • Deliver, pick up, ship, and transport supplies and equipment, adhering to WHMIS and TDG regulations.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance functions on vehicles and equipment, maintaining documentation and recommending repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Participate in inventory activities and perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Grade 12, one year of recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid Class 5 British Columbia driver's license.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, as per TRC (2015), and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
  • Effective communication, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal effectively with others.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
