Overview of the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the Aids Prevention Program. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of client-specific care plans.

About the Position

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $78,000 - $108,000 per year, depending on experience. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for nursing and a commitment to providing compassionate care to individuals living with physical and mental health needs, substance use disorders, and/or facing structural barriers to care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide health care services such as physical, psychosocial and substance use assessment; HIV, HCV and STI education, testing and treatment; medication administration and titration; overdose response; and support and referral to other health and social services.
  • Contribute to the development of client-specific care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, other health care professionals, and community services to address clients' complex needs.
Requirements
  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN or RPN registrant.
  • Completion of approved addictions or substance use training or certificate program (e.g. BCCSU POATSP course), and one year's recent related experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • BCCNM certified practice in the areas STI Management and/or RN First Call is an asset.
