As a Strategic Quantitative Advisor within our esteemed Risk Management Department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the sustainable growth of Societe Generale's operations. Our mission is to provide expert analysis and risk management techniques that achieve optimal outcomes for the bank.
Job OverviewThe Risk Management Department oversees enterprise, strategic, credit, market, liquidity, operational, model, and other risks associated with corporate and investment banking activities. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and overseeing the SG America model risk management system, ensuring its consistency, integrity, and compliance with regulatory provisions.
- Managing the model approval process and monitoring models' performance, effectiveness of the MRM framework, and the model business environment on an ongoing basis.
In collaboration with Senior Quantitative Advisors and the team Manager, you will conduct independent model reviews at all stages of their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Developing and maintaining strong programming skills in Python, R, C++, or similar, with advanced knowledge of statistics, econometrics, and machine learning.
- Working with large datasets and quantitative analysis to identify trends and patterns.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical staff.
- Familiarity with model risk management practices and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree (Master's or PhD preferred) in a quantitative field such as Mathematical Finance, Financial Engineering, Statistics, or STEM.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in model development, validation, or a front-office quant role; fewer years accepted with a PhD.
- A minimum of 20 Vacation days + 4 personal days.
