Client Service Manager Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Client Service Manager to join our Commercial Team in Prince George. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting the Client Executive with all client management requirements, with a focus on retention of the assigned book of business.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage a book of business by reviewing clients' exposures, gaps in coverage, and loss history and propose appropriate coverages and/or solutions with the Client Executive.
  • Develop account strategies, presentations, and proposals with the Client Executive.
  • Answer client questions and handle daily requests/coverage changes.
  • Ensure maximum retention of the book. Work with a Client Service Assistant to provide exceptional client service.
  • Work with a Client Service Assistant to ensure all certificates of insurance are issued accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Review contracts to ensure the insurance program meets requirements and work with insurers to amend coverages/obtain agreement.
  • Establish appropriate procedures for claims administration/loss prevention activity.
  • Be an advocate for our clients during the claims process.

Marketing and Business Development

  • Manage the marketing process in close collaboration with the Client Executive.
  • Prepare accurate and comprehensive underwriting submissions.
  • Utilize relationships to negotiate best terms for new and renewal business.
  • Endorse policy wordings based on client requests.
  • Work with insurers to provide coverage solutions to better meet our clients' changing operations and as new products are being offered.
  • Ensure the accuracy of renewal documentation and issue manuscript policies when required.
  • Review policy wordings and other documentation for accuracy and completeness.

Team Collaboration and Development

  • Supervise and train the Client Service Assistant on internal procedures and work to develop their general insurance knowledge.
  • Proof the Client Service Assistant's work to ensure internal and external documents are accurate and expedited in a timely manner.
  • Work with the Client Service Assistant to ensure timely and accurate follow-ups on outstanding client accounts receivables.
  • Meet with BFL Compliance regularly to review accounts and procedures.

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain policy files and/or electronic files to ensure they are organized and up to date.
  • Respond to telephone calls and written inquiries from clients and underwriters in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in industry functions and targeted public relations activities.
  • Maintain important market relationships.
  • Follow BFL policies and procedures, including security and quality procedures, as currently set out and as amended from time to time.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties and special projects as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of Commercial insurance experience or relevant insurance education.
  • Level 2 license (insurance designation, CIP or CAIB preferred) or working towards the designation.
  • Maintenance of licensing requirements/continuing education.
  • Extremely detailed.
  • Must be completely client-focused and service-oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills, listening, verbal, and written.
  • Ability to work well independently, as part of a team, and with others throughout the organization.
  • Positive attitude and a desire to grow.
  • Willingness to go beyond the job description.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Salary Range

The expected salary for this role ranges from $70,000 to $90,000. Annual salary will be determined by factors including prior experience, location, business segment, and relevance of the candidate's skills to the role.
