Job Title: Academic Critical Care Hospitalist

Job Summary: McMaster University invites applications for a Critical Care Hospitalist position in the Department of Medicine. The successful candidate will hold a full-time academic appointment and be responsible for clinical activities in the cardiovascular intensive care unit, post-cardiac surgery ward, and rapid follow-up clinic.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in the cardiovascular intensive care unit.
  • Manage patients in the post-cardiac surgery ward and rapid follow-up clinic.
  • Participate in formal teaching activities in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education programs.
  • Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives in the Department of Critical Care.

Requirements:

  • Eligibility for certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the Canadian College of Family Physicians.
  • Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
  • Formal training in critical care and experience managing critically ill patients.
  • Advanced point of care ultrasound training.
