Job Description
The Front-Line Support Worker is a critical member of our team, responsible for providing direct support and care to shelter residents. This includes responding to crisis calls, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents, and coordinating activities and services.
Responsibilities:
- Answer and respond to crisis calls and business lines
- Ensure the care and safety of all shelter residents, providing information and support to help them make independent decisions and choices
- Coordinate and supervise in-house activities, prepare meals, and handle housekeeping duties
- Complete all admissions, handle referrals, and discharge of residents, including required documentation
- Provide effective service and assistance to callers and residents, advocating on their behalf when necessary
Qualifications:
- Genuine interest in issues surrounding victims of crime and violence
- Willingness to train if interested in working with families fleeing violence
- Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Experience working with women who have been abused
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
