Biotechnology Laboratory Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to serve as a teaching assistant for our Biotechnology Applications Laboratory course. This cornerstone course is a key component of our Master of Science in Biotechnology program, and we are looking for someone to help facilitate the learning experience for our students.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the faculty instructor with lab activities, including cell culture, HPLC analysis, bioreactor use, and gel electrophoresis. They will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and organized lab environment, preparing solutions, and performing other basic lab tasks as needed.
As a teaching assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our faculty and students, and contribute to the development of the next generation of biotechnology professionals. This is a temporary position, requiring a commitment of 20 hours per week.
To be successful in this role, you will need a strong background in life sciences, with experience in laboratory settings. Familiarity with the techniques and equipment mentioned above is a plus. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for biotechnology, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the faculty instructor with lab activities, including cell culture, HPLC analysis, bioreactor use, and gel electrophoresis
- Maintain a safe and organized lab environment
- Prepare solutions and perform other basic lab tasks as needed
- Work closely with faculty and students to facilitate the learning experience
Qualifications:
- BS in life sciences or related area with experience required
- Experience with laboratory techniques and equipment preferred
- Familiarity with biotechnology applications and principles a plus
