Job Summary

Dynacare is seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and process blood samples and other laboratory specimens with precision and accuracy.
  • Enter requisitions and results into our system in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to patients, responding to their needs and concerns with empathy and kindness.
  • Work collaboratively with our laboratory team to ensure the highest quality of care and service.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information and test results.

Requirements

  • Secondary School diploma and completion of a Laboratory Assistant training program or Medical Lab Assistance course with specialized training in phlebotomy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, at a level that enables clear communication with patients and colleagues.

Working Conditions

  • Medical laboratory environment with exposure to blood and other bodily fluids.
  • May be required to lift a maximum of 30 pounds.
  • Repetitive movements with frequent computer use.
  • At times, may require frequent standing, sitting, bending, etc.
