At Morson Canada, we are seeking two experienced Technical Engineers to join our team at the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station. The successful candidates will have an undergraduate degree in engineering and DE Qualified as per OPG Qual 33685 would be an asset.

About the Role
  • We offer a competitive hourly rate of $50 - 70/hour for this intermediate-level position.

This is a hybrid role with 2 days remote work from the location at 1675 Montgomery Park Rd., Pickering.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and/or update operating procedures to ensure current practices are recognized and submit them for review and approval.
  2. Assist in department budget preparation by gathering data and monitoring variances to annual budget.
  3. Supervise staff involved in these activities and provide instructions and direction as needed.
  4. Participate in training programs to further own development and assist in the development of others.
  5. Prepare or help prepare specifications for purchasing requisitions for material, services, and equipment.
  6. Initiate studies or investigations where opportunities for improvement are apparent and collect, analyze, and report data.
  7. Provide technical evaluations, advice, and solutions to problems and coordinate technical work as required.
  8. Review proposals received from internal or external sources related to assigned areas and recommend disposition to Supervisor.
Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree in engineering is required, and DE Qualified as per OPG Qual 33685 would be an asset.
  • A minimum of 6 years and up to 8 years of experience is necessary to gain familiarity with the work and become fully competent.
  • Requires a knowledge of physics, chemistry, metallurgy, mathematics, electricity, engineering, and economics to technically understand the operation of the facility.
  • Advanced knowledge of one or more of these subjects is required to evaluate and propose improvements to processes, equipment, and systems or to unit safety, reliability, and performance.
