The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Educator to join our team. As a Clinical Educator, you will play a key role in advancing professional practice within our clinical areas, focusing on education and practice development.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver education programs for point-of-care staff, focusing on scope of practice issues, interprofessional care planning, and best practices at the point-of-care.
- Assess and develop clinical and leadership skills of point-of-care staff, in collaboration with program leadership, unit managers, and advanced practice clinical leads.
- Support clinical staff in the implementation of education initiatives, such as patient safety initiatives, clinical policies and procedures, and the I-CARE.
- Contribute to the development of high-performing interprofessional clinical teams, focusing on quality client care for CAMH clients.
- Collaborate with program leadership and unit managers to recruit and perform management of staff, monitor clinical quality improvement measures, and participate in program research and evaluation.
- Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current BCLS (CPR) certificate.
- Five (5) years of experience within the mental health field.
- Specific experience with clients with severe mental health and addiction issues and/or forensic histories is considered an asset.
- BN/BScN degree and computer literacy are required.
- Previous teaching experience is essential.
- CNA certification in psychiatric/mental health nursing would be considered an asset.
- MN/MScN or other relevant Master's degree.
- Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
