About the Job

Flynn Canada Ltd. is seeking a skilled Roofing Specialist to join our team. As a Roofing Specialist, you will be responsible for installing and repairing various types of roofing systems, including built-up roofing systems, asphalt shingles, and metal roofs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and repair roofing systems using various materials, including asphalt saturated felts, hot asphalt, and gravel.
  • Install or replace roofing materials such as asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes, and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings.
  • Install single-ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric, or other asphaltic compositions.
  • Instruct apprentices in the art of roofing and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools.
Work Environment

As a Roofing Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a large workload. You will be required to work at heights, in noisy conditions, and outdoors. You will also be required to handle heavy loads and work under pressure.

Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in roofing is required.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Memberships, and Courses: Not required.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, physically demanding, bending, crouching, kneeling, hand-eye coordination, handling heavy loads, large workload, overtime required, work under pressure.
  • Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, reliability, team player.
  • Financial Benefits: As per collective agreement, work term: permanent, work language: English or French, hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
