Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Specialist to join our team at A1 Transport Hot Shot & Express Services Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and picking up messages, parcels, and other items by hand, operating and driving automobiles, vans, and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products.

The ideal candidate will have a Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks, and other 2-axle vehicles) and experience with transportation/travel in local areas. A strong client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, organization, reliability, and teamwork abilities are also essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivery and Pick-up: Deliver and pick up messages, parcels, and other items by hand.
  • Vehicle Operation: Operate and drive automobiles, vans, and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods from vehicles.
  • Trip Planning: Use maps and other trip planning aids to optimize routes and ensure timely delivery.
  • Record Keeping: Record trip information, including vehicle mileage, fuel costs, and any problems encountered.
Required Qualifications:
  • Class 5/5F/G Licence: Possess a valid Class 5/5F/G Licence for cars, small trucks, and other 2-axle vehicles.
  • Transportation Experience: Have experience with transportation/travel in local areas.
  • Certificates and Licences: Hold any relevant certificates or licences related to the job requirements.
Work Environment:

This is a physically demanding role that requires working in fast-paced environments, handling heavy loads, and providing excellent customer service. The selected candidate will work approximately 40-60 hours per week, depending on business needs.
