Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team at William Osler Health System. As a key member of our inter-professional healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient-focused nursing care to patients who are identified as less complex and demonstrate more predictable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Practice patient-centered care to ensure patient safety and physiological and psychological well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of patients.
  • Provide health education and discharge instructions to patients and families to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Recent experience in acute medicine, preferably with geriatric patients.
  • Knowledge of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, inhaler and nebulizer therapy.
  • Experience in care of patients with TPN, NG tubes, chest tubes, tracheostomy, wound care, enteral feeds, IV therapy, blood collection, and isolation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Sound knowledge of nursing process, theory, and responsibilities to the nursing profession.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional team.
  • Knowledge of patient and family-centered care.
  • Experience with patient and family health teaching.
