About the Role

EXP is seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Brampton, Ontario. As a key member of our Geotechnical Division, you will provide technical services and project management to a variety of projects, leveraging your expertise in tunneling and geotechnical engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional service and delivery.
  • Prepare proposals for geotechnical services, including cost estimates and timelines, to secure new projects and clients.
  • Plan and execute assignments, applying your knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and standards.
  • Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and third parties to achieve project objectives, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and resources to meet client expectations.
  • Direct field activities, including investigation, monitoring, and testing services, to ensure accurate data collection and analysis.
  • Review and interpret monitoring information from geotechnical instrumentation programs, providing expert analysis and recommendations.
  • Write and review technical reports, ensuring clarity and accuracy in communication.
  • Work with senior staff to address complex and unusual matters, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Perform independent studies, analyses, and interpretations, applying your expertise to drive project success.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, municipal staff, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Continuously develop your technical skills and share your expertise with junior and intermediate Geotechnical employees, promoting knowledge sharing and growth.
Requirements
  • Designation from Ontario is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological Engineering, with a post-graduate degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Geotechnical engineering related to tunneling, preferably in a consulting engineering environment.
  • Management experience, including leading engineering teams and managing multiple projects.
  • Proven business development skills, with a track record of generating geotechnical services on projects and securing new clients.
  • Experience with complex geotechnical investigations and design work, including tunneling projects.
  • Proven mentoring of junior engineering staff, promoting knowledge sharing and growth.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to exercise diplomacy and tact when interacting with clients, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including multi-tasking and prioritizing.
  • Advanced computer analysis experience, with proficiency in relevant software and tools.
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle.
