About the Role
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team at Bella Coola General Hospital. As a Rehabilitation Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy teams in delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Practice Coordinators and designated Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist to carry out established rehabilitative activities in occupational therapy and physiotherapy scope of practices.
- Support the team with duties such as receiving assignments and implementing lower-risk interventions related to clinical aspects of OT/PT care plans, demonstrating and teaching activities, adapting devices to enable patients to maximize their potential for independence, providing functional direction to patients and family, and assisting with practicing daily living skills.
- Report relevant observations of patient progress and behaviors.
- Provide direction to volunteers, organize and clean equipment and supplies for activities, and maintain established inventory of supplies.
