We're seeking an experienced Senior FPGA Engineer to join our team at Alphawave Semi. Our mission is to accelerate data communication and power innovation in industries such as data centers, networking, storage, AI, 5G wireless infrastructure, and autonomous vehicles.

The Opportunity:

This role involves contributing to the development of ASIC/FPGA solutions by writing test plans, designing test environments, developing test cases, debugging, and collecting coverage. You will work closely with our external customers and internal engineers to verify, validate, and deliver designs for use in OTN/Ethernet FPGAs or ASICs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality IP blocks: Develop standards-compliant IP blocks for use in OTN/Ethernet/CXL/PCIE FPGAs or ASICs.
  • Streamline development process: Implement advanced tools and scripting to streamline the ASIC development process.
  • Design and document: Micro-architect and document the design using Verilog.
  • Test and verification: Assist verifiers and contribute to the test suite, issue and track bug reports from inception to closure.
  • Mentor junior engineers: Share knowledge and experience with junior engineers to help them grow professionally.

Requirements:

  • BSc/BEng degree: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in ASIC/FPGA development: Have 1+ years of experience in ASIC or FPGA development, preferably with telecommunications protocol knowledge (OTN, Ethernet, CXL, PCIE).
  • Programming skills: Be proficient in VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog, and Unix/Linux Shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with design and verification tools: Experience with FPGA compilation tools, Vivado/Quartus, and source code revisioning systems like SVN, CVS, RCS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OTN/Ethernet transport system experience: Familiarity with OTN/Ethernet transport systems.
  • CXL/PCIE experience: Experience with CXL/PCIE technologies.
  • Debugging tools: Familiarity with debugging tools.
  • PERL/TCL/Python/C++ programming: Proficiency in PERL, TCL, Python, and C/C++ programming languages.

Salary Range: The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
