Lumentum is a leading high technology telecommunications company seeking a skilled Senior FPGA Design / Verification engineer to join our Ottawa-based R&D team. We believe in fostering a diverse and inclusive culture where employees bring their whole and authentic selves to work.
This full-time position offers an opportunity to work on a broad range of optical telecommunication products, including next-generation optical switches and amplifiers. In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design, verify, and implement FPGA solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- FPGA Design: Develop control and datapath logic, IP core configuration, and integration.
- Verification: Create simulation environments, including scripts, testbenches, testcases, and bus functional models.
- Lab Validation & Debugging: Collaborate with hardware and firmware engineers for cross-functional integration and lab validation.
- Synthesis & Optimization: Implement constraints, optimize FPGA designs, and analyze build and timing reports.
- Documentation: Create and maintain high-quality design and test documentation.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in ASIC or FPGA design and simulation using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Strong experience with synthesis, constraints, timing analysis, and clock domain crossing.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
