System Quality Tester

Kraken Robotics is a leading provider of ocean technology solutions, harnessing the expertise of its talented team to deliver superior subsea solutions for global security, environmental, and scientific challenges. Our team designs and manufactures technology platforms for NATO navies and commercial clients worldwide, providing acoustic 3D Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS) data solutions and imaging in the offshore energy sector, with a growing focus on offshore renewables.

We are seeking a skilled System Quality Tester to join our dynamic team. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and maintain testing at various stages of manufacturing to identify production problems and implement remedial steps to prevent future defects. The System Quality Tester will assist in preventing defects, maintaining consistency, adhering to regulations, and fostering continuous improvement. This position is based in our Mount Pearl, NL, Canada office location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform in-process testing and factory acceptance testing
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Software, and Production teams to troubleshoot issues
  • Raise product and process non-conformances
  • Produce accurate testing documentation
  • Test and set up equipment and products as required
  • Update and monitor work and test instructions, and related documentation as necessary
  • Initiate and implement continual improvement activities
  • Participate in quality audits as required
Requirements
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or other technical diploma with experience
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with reading Electrical/Mechanical Drawings is considered an asset
  • Software knowledge is considered an asset
  • High degree of organization, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (technical reporting and engineering documentation)
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
