Job Description

The candidate will oversee the planning and execution of business operations for the Montreal Parts Distribution Center (PDC). They will foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and teamwork, ensuring the success of General Motors' vision and values. The role involves supervising a team of employees engaged in parts distribution operations, coordinating staffing requirements, and promoting safe work practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead in executing the business operational plan for the Montreal PDC.
  • Proactively pursue General Motors' vision and values.
  • Foster an atmosphere of integrity, accountability, teamwork, and cooperation.
  • Supervise a small to medium group of salary and hourly employees engaged in parts distribution operations.
  • Effectively and efficiently coordinate staffing requirements for the day-to-day operations of the PDC with minimal guidance from the plant manager.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of corporate, division, and plant policies, health and safety, employee relations.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to effectively lead, motivate, and facilitate others in group situations.
  • Proficiency in team building and ability to create an environment that allows for measured risk-taking.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and plan.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated high level of analytical ability to assess and identify appropriate alternative courses of action for definition and resolution of problems that are unique and diverse.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of GMS principles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial management concepts to improve costs.
  • The successful candidate must be fluent in both French and English.
